MSI Intros New GT628 Gaming Ready Laptop
MSI recently introduced C-series mainstream laptops that have been announced in the US. The new GT628 comes as a new addition to MSI's line of gaming laptops, featuring a mix of Intel's latest Core 2 Duo processors and one of NVIDIA's new-generation of mobile GPUs, the GeForce GTS 160M.
Packing a familiar chassis design, the new GT628 from MSI has been fitted with Intel's PM45 and ICH9M chipset combo, which will enable users to take advantage of the performance capabilities of Intel's Core 2 Duo processors. In addition, MSI has equipped the new laptop with NVIDIA's new GeForce GTS 160M graphics card, featuring 1GB of DDR3 graphics memory, ready to deliver support for the latest gaming applications on the market. The 15.4" LCD screen boasts a 16:10 aspect ratio and should deliver an impressive visual experience, in both gaming and multimedia applications.
Additional features include support for up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, high-capacity 500GB SATA hard drive, 4-in-1 media card reader, wireless 802.11 b/g/n and Gigabit LAN connectivity, two USB 2.0 ports and a choice for a super-multi DVD or Blu-ray optical drive. The whole thing can be powered by a 6-cell or a 9-cell battery pack and measures 358 x 260 x 27-31mm, while the weight is around 2.7kg, with battery.
Unfortunately, MSI has been very quiet about the pricing and availability details of its new laptop, but it shouldn't be long before gaming enthusiasts worldwide will have a chance at grabbing one for themselves. Overall, the GT628 looks like an interesting mix of portability and high-performance computing, ready to provide users with a high-quality gaming experience.
