Review: Nokia E66 business phone
Nokia's E series is one of the most appealing handset for businessmen who prefer to have a email options and good data transfer speeds. In July 2008 E66 was launched in the market.
This high-end smartphone replaces the E65, adding 3G for the US, GPS, FM radio, automatic screen rotation, and an upgraded camera with 3 megapixel resolution and auto-focus, all in a slimmer slide body. Other key features include Wi-Fi, memory card slot, and a large QVGA display.
The upper part of the phone is much shorter than the bottom part. The back of the phone is all covered in metal, as well as the display's frame. The phone is made from a sturdy shiny plastic, which feels rich and stylish. The medium sized display is covered by scratch resistant glass, which seems to keep fingerprints away.
The keypad layout is standard like other handset and doesn't include anything out of the ordinary. Keys are large and very easy to text with. The battery cover on the back of the phone is made from stainless steel, which protects the slider from drops.
It features a 2.4" TFT display and supports 16 Million colors and 240x320 pixel resolution. The slider has been gifted with a very fine accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate.
The Nokia E66 has the 3.2 Megapixel camera which features flash, autofocus capabilities and 4x digital zoom. The camera interface is standard as found in other Symbian devices like White Balance, Colors, Exposure compensation, ISO and Gridline. The Nokia E66 can only record movies in QVGA mode with 15fps.
Nokia E66 is a quad band GSM phone which features GPRS class B, multislot class 32, HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps, EDGE class B, multislot class 32, WCDMA 900/2100 or 850/1900 or 850/2100, WLAN 802.11b, 802.11g and TCP/IP support. It also features Infrared with maximum speed up to 115 kbps and bluetooth version 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate. VoIP support is also a good additional features.
Nokia E66 includes 110 MB internal storage memory and 128 MB SDRAM memory. The 2GB microSD card that comes with the phone which is expandable up to 8GB. The microSD card slot is given under the battery cover.
As we know that Nokia E66 is best suitable for the businessmen who really don't care about this feature. Though it features music player that supports AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, MP3 and WAV music file formats. It palys music with eualizer, Loudness and Stereo widening. The integrated FM Radio can record up to 50 base stations and features the Visual Radio functions.
