GTA IV Liberty City - Rockstar Games
Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar's brainchild, this series has entertained us since the first top-down view version appeared in 1997, and with its latest Grand Theft Auto IV, has set new benchmarks for realism and story depth.
They have released console version for the Xbox 360 and the Play Station, and PC version recently.
Story
The story is about the glorious American Dream. Your play as Niko Belic, an immigrant who arrives in the U.S. inspired by his cousin's statement that he is living the glorious American Dream. Niko is one of the most memorable characters that appeared in games for quit some time. He is damaged goods, as the war waged in the former Yugoslavian territory has had a tremendous impact on him. So he arrives in Liberty City hoping that he will find people who will help him get over this. But as soon as he arrive, he noticed that his cousin Roman isn't living in penthouses or driving fast cars or dating supermodels, but Roman is actually the owner of a small company and struggles for an attention of a young girl named Mallorie. Money is scares so Niko will start taking odd jobs, most of them of illegal nature, and he'll progress through the various crime organizations that govern by Liberty City. During these adventures he'll meet a lots of memorable characters that are part of a story.
Gameplay
Here we go for the review of gameplay. I think, PC version of GTA IV is more fun than Console one. There are so many things we need to take into consideration. Like walking around the Liberty City, the mouse and keyboard setup is good and enjoyable. We can easily perform the headshot with the right weapons during firefights. Also shooting while driving is lot better than Console version. The controller are good to drive any type of vehicle like a bike, car, boat, and helicopter. But camera doesn't respond as fast as we expect. Rockstar tried to implement the mouse instead of numeric keys in order to control the tilt of the vehicle. But hard to handle the helicopter.
I think road texture should pop-in especially while driving from one part of the city to another. Also sometimes it's slowdown and occasional freeze have appeared on our computer.
a lots of users have reported glitches and bugs, but during our playthrough only a few appeared. The Artificial intelligence though is severely vulnerable to bugs. Sometimes its rendered that last mission unplayable.
Concept
The concept of GTA is quit simple. We need to undertake some missions on behalf of various criminals in a fictional city. Whether it is Liberty City, Vice City or state of San Andreas, the core mechanics have remained same. Just undertake the mission and make Money.
Visuals and Audio
GTA is a stunning game. Like seeing the island, going boating through a thunderstorm with high waves, riding helicopter. Graphics qualities are good.
Audio is also really good we can listen the radio while driving the Car. The Cars sound is really good.
Multiplayer
The multiplayer aspect on the console version was extremely well done and offered a huge amount of opportunities to wreak havoc through Liberty City. Whether you organized races through the city or you ran around killing other people in deathmatch mode, you would be very entertained. Now, with the PC version, the Rockstar team took it to a whole new level and delivered a massive 32-player online mode that allows even more people to play on a server
Conclusion
The PC version of GTA is lot better than the Console version. If we have high-end computer then we can enjoy a lot.
