Rumors - Apple 3G Laptops
As per the recent Apple job posting, is seeking an experienced communications engineer to join its Mac team and focus on debugging communications technologies -- including 3G Wireless WAN. aimd rumors that Apple may be planning to add 3G wireless broadband capabilities to all or part of its laptop line.
The job listing within Apple's Mac Hardware Group, seeks an individual that would be responsible for testing and reporting hardware, software, and device driver bugs for Communications technologies including AirPort (802.11a/b/g/n), Bluetooth v2.0, gigabit Ethernet, and/or 3G Wireless WAN in a detailed, timely manner.
While it's possible that Apple may be merely seeking a QA engineer who can ensure that third-party 3G cards work in the ExpressCard/34 slots of MacBook Pros, it may also be possible that Cupertino is looking to add 3G capability directly into its laptops.
But still rumors have persisted about whether 3G will ever be available as a built-in function of Apple's laptop line?
