RIM: BlackBerry Storm 2 with Wi-Fi in September
BlackBerry maker RIM made an announcement to release the BlackBerry Storm 2 in September 2009. The followup to the groundbreaking Storm that was released last year as the first touchscreen Blackberry, The new Storm 2 addresses one of the biggest criticisms of the first smartphone and of Verizon devices in general.
The source gave us their assurances that the Storm 2 would have WiFi, and would be an even better Pro-consumer device than the first Storm. Also, the new type of screen will come with the BlackBerry Strom 2, improving the screen enormously and making typing really pleasurable. A common point of complaint for the first-gen devices; comments he dropped lead us to believe WiFi isn’t the only thing RIM and Verizon have up their sleeve with the Storm 2.
Besides the September launch date and extra WiFi not much detail was passed on. But if RIM does launch a new BlackBerry Storm this September, that will leave the current devices obsolete. That's not even a year since the original product launch in November 2008.
