JDSU Delivers Wireless Field Test Solution for 3G Deployment in Brazil
JDSU today announced it has delivered wireless field test solutions to support 3G network deployment in Brazil. JDSU’s solutions help ensure high-quality network installation and reliable service performance for one of Brazil’s largest wireless service providers.
The company’s successful expansion into the radio frequency (RF) and field test market is based on its global distribution channels and an exclusive partnership with GenComm. GenComm designs and manufactures handheld instruments for the troubleshooting and maintenance of wireless base stations and repeaters.
With a strong RF test solution offering, JDSU has established a leading portfolio of test solutions for backhaul and core transport facilities that support mobile and wireline networks.
JDSU’s partnership with GenComm has allowed us to quickly provide our customers with wireless test instruments for existing installation and maintenance requirements while positioning us for emerging next generation 4G technologies such as long-term evolution (LTE) and WiMAX test solutions, said Bart Freedman, senior vice president in JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement business segment sales.
JDSU’s distribution agreement with GenComm includes the following instruments supporting cost-effective network installation, reduced mean-time-to-repair and service quality:
- Base station analyzer (JD7105A)
- Cable and antenna analyzers (JD723A and JD724B)
- Radio frequency (RF) analyzer (JD7106A)
- Dual RF-port cable and antenna analyzer (JD725A)
- Power sensors (JD73x)
The JDSU RF test solutions meet several base station test requirements for established technologies such as CDMA, EVDO, GSM, EDGE, and WCDMA, with an upgrade path to emerging 4G technologies. A recent analyst report by Infonetics confirms LTE as a popular rapid mobile expansion infrastructure for the future of mobile service delivery with a market size of $5 billion in 2013, and many major operators committed to begin technical deployment in 2009 with commercial availability by 2010.
