Cypress Semiconductor Corp., introduced two new PSoC programmable system-on-chips with enhanced analog and digital performance. The CY8C21x45 and CY8C22xxx PSoC devices give engineers more design flexibility through greater configurability and better performance of digital resources for implementing PWMs, timers, communication interfaces such as I2C and SPI, and more. Leveraging a dedicated dual-channel CapSense capacitive touch-sensing interface, a capability called CapSense Plus allows a single new PSoC device to implement multiple buttons and slider interfaces while managing functions such as motor control, intelligent sensing, LED control and more. The new chips target a broad range of applications across white goods, communications, industrial, automotive, consumer electronics and other markets.

Freescale Semiconductor expanded on its commitment to GSM EDGE wireless networks with the introduction of three high-performance RF power transistors based on laterally-diffused metal oxide semiconductor (LDMOS) technology. The devices incorporate enhancements that make them easy to integrate into amplifiers while delivering exceptional levels of performance.

NXP, the independent semiconductor company founded by Philips, underpinned its leadership in radio frequency with highly advanced QUBIC4 BiCMOS silicon technology, delivering higher levels of integration and performance at high frequencies, all in a cost effective way. NXP's commitment to furthering the development of QUBIC4 BiCMOS will now enable future generations of RF products such as low noise amplifiers, medium power amplifiers and LO generators for e.g. mobile phones and communications infrastructure equipment to operate at a higher performance level.

Juniper Networks, Inc., the leader in high-performance networking, introduced the industry's first 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100 GE) router interface card, which will be delivered on the T1600 Core Router. Driven by rapidly increasing network traffic — with video, advanced wireless services and emerging trends such as cloud computing as key drivers — core networks will soon require a new generation of scale, and 100 GE interfaces will provide an order of magnitude increase over the majority of interfaces available today.
